23 Chromosomes

Its Cell Division 4 here, and we are about to drop a fresh new beat. Our next song is dedicated to the reproduction processes of mitosis and meiosis. BUT there's a twist, we also are dedicating it to genetics, and it has a brand new music video! We took a song that was on the top charts for weeks and turned it into a masterpiece of science.

TUNE: Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars

LYRICS:
mi-mitosis-mitosis
(repeat 5 times)

This is the process, in which
cells split in two
this ones for them children, them children, straight gametes
cloning is duplicating
liven it up in the body
got chromosomes and DNA
gotta reproduce real fast

Ive got a lot  (of DNA)
Adanine and thymine
Ive got a lot (of DNA)
Guanine, Cytosine
Ive got a lot (of DNA)
Say my name you now who I am
Haploid (one set)
Of 23 chromosomes

Proteins make up (YOU)
(x3)
Mitosis gonna give it to ya
(x3)
mutations happen all the time
Don't believe me just watch
(x5)

Hey! Hey! Hey! Oh!

Stop wait a minute
There's another process
Tell me all about it
Its called meiosis

We got together before we spun our track and pitched each other and came up with our final lyrics:

Mi Mitosis, Mitosis(x5) Awwwwww! This is the process in which cells, split in twoThis ones for them children, them children, straight gametesCloning, is duplicating, livin' it up in the bodyGot chromosomes and DNAGotta reproduce real fastI've got a lot (of DNA)Adenine and ThymineI've got a lot (of DNA)Guanine and CtyosineI've got a lot (of DNA)Say my name you know who I amHaploid (one set)of 23 chromosomesProteins make up (YOU)           (X3)Mitosis gonna to give it to ya                  (x3)Meiosis is another processWhere offspring are made                 (x6)Hey, hey, hey, oh!Stop, wait a minuteMeiosis is differentYou need two parents...Females, have the eggAnd males have the sperm, if they combine during intercourseYou get the offspring which are childrenMore awkward than any other subjectI've got a lot (of DNA)Adenine and ThymineI've got a lot (of DNA)Guanine and CytosineI've got a lot (of DNA)Diploid (two sets)Of 23 chromosomesProteins make up  (YOU)                (x3)Meiosis gonna give it to ya                (x3)Mitosis and Meiosis areWhere offspring are made                (x6)Before we leave Imma tell y'all a lil something23 chromosomes, 23 chromosomes                     (x2)I said 23 chromosomes, 23 chromosomes23 chromosomes, 23 chromosomesBut also, There's mutationsAnd there's also adaptationsLike deletion and insertionMistakes in genetic codeRecessiveDominantDominant trumps recessiveUnless there is a double recessive pair…….What decides your traits            (x6)Hey, hey, hey, oh!23 chromosomes, 23 chromosomes (combine)23 chromosomes, 23 chromosomes23 chromosomes, plus 23 chromosomes, (make up)46 chromosomes, 46 chromosomes (a human)                            (x2)

When we got together again, we talked about our transitions and background colors of the music video. We chose black as our background and a bright, stunning blue as our words and captions and such. Overall our music video is very well put together! Check it out here!
Hope you enjoy!!

problems and solutions

Holy Cross

Here at Holy Cross, we have a lot of strengths but with strengths comes problems. Some strengths we have are, great technology (iPads, Macs, Computer lab, etc...) which helps students who don't have those resources at home, we also have a bunch of space to expand and build new things to enhance the school.
An example of a Student ID

Problems:

Some problems we have here at Holy Cross are, that we do not have a cafeteria to eat lunch in, another thing is that the walls in the gym are very thin and could be broken with a soccer ball. Some problems are that the older students do not have anything to do when the do get to go outside, something else is that students have to wait until an adult opens the door because they are locked.

Solutions:

Some solutions for the problems we have are, a simple change, maybe by eating lunch in the Great room, we wouldn't have to worry about kids at recess, to fix the walls is just by adding a slight padding to the walls. To fix the problem with the older students is by simply building or buying a gaga pit, this game would provide fun the kids of all ages, to fix the last problem is that simply making a student ID for the kids that are 5th grade and up that can unlock the doors.

Argon

On the periodic table, argon is in period 3 and group 18. Argon's atomic mass is about 40 kg and its atomic number is 18. Argon is one of the six noble gases, it is classified as that because it is non-reactive to any other elements

Argon was discovered by Lord Rayleigh, an English chemist, and William Ramsay, a Scottish chemist, in 1894. They were conducting an experiment where they took a sample of clean air and removed all oxygen, carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen, leaving them with one final element of Argon.

Argon is mostly found as a element, especially in the atmosphere since it makes up about 1% of the atmosphere, making it the Earth's third most abundant gas. Argon does have a compound called Argon Fluorohydride ( HArF), but it was not discovered until  the 2000's.

To get argon in its pure form, you would have to boil liquid air (pressurized) until the liquid nitrogen would boil out at 77.3 degrees kelvin.

Today argon is used for, thermal insulation in windows, incandescent lighting, inflating dry suits in scuba diving, and in fluorescent light bulbs.
